Who we are
Deliver.im is based on the Isle of Man and is the controller of the personal information described here. We place orders with mainland UK retailers in our name on your behalf and arrange delivery from our UK warehouse to your address on the island.
What we hold
- Account details. Your name, email address and a password, which is stored in a hashed form that we cannot read.
- Your Manx delivery address. The address and IM postcode you give us, so we can price delivery and get the parcel to the right door.
- Orders and tracking events. What you ordered, from which retailer, what you paid, and the time and place of each tracking landmark from the retailer to our UK warehouse, across to the Isle of Man and out for delivery.
- Payment. Payments are taken by our payment provider. We receive a confirmation and the last four digits of the card so you can recognise it; we never see or store your full card number.
- Messages about your orders. Anything you tell us from your order page, so we can sort out a problem and keep a record of what was agreed.
- Analytics, with your consent. If you accept analytics in the cookie choice, we collect anonymised page views and clicks to see which parts of the site are useful. If you decline, we do not.
Why we hold it
To place your order with the retailer, to move it from our UK warehouse to your address, to take payment, to update you at each tracking stage, and to help when something goes wrong. We also keep order records to meet accounting and tax rules. Where you have agreed to analytics, we use it to improve the site. We do not use your details to build a profile of you or to show you advertising elsewhere.
Who sees it
- The retailer you buy from receives the delivery details needed for the order, which is usually our UK warehouse address rather than yours, plus the item details.
- Our delivery partners receive your name, address, postcode and, if you give one, a contact number so they can get the parcel to your door and let you know when it is on the van.
- Our payment provider handles your card details under its own privacy notice.
- Our hosting and email providers store and send data on our instructions only.
We never sell your details, and we never pass them to anyone for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
Your account details stay for as long as you have an account. Order records, including the delivery address used, are kept for six years after the order to meet Isle of Man accounting rules. Analytics data is kept in anonymised form for up to 26 months. When you delete your account we remove your profile straight away and keep only the order records the law requires.
Your rights
Under the Isle of Man Data Protection Act 2018 and the GDPR as it applies on the island (which mirrors the UK rules), you can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, have anything wrong corrected, ask us to delete your details, and object to or restrict some uses. Most of this you can do yourself from your account page: update your name, address and postcode, or delete your account. For anything else, send us a message from any order page while signed in and we will reply within a month. If you are not happy with how we handle your request you can complain to the Isle of Man Information Commissioner.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies that the site needs to work, such as keeping you logged in and remembering your cookie choice. Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them in the consent banner shown on your first visit. If you change your mind, clear this site's data in your browser and the banner will ask you again next time.
Changes to this notice
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and change the date at the top. For anything that affects you in a meaningful way, we will also tell you by email before it takes effect. The Terms explain how the service itself works.
